Representatives of Arkansas, including Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, have arrived at the “Salon du Bourget,” also known as the Paris Air Show, to champion the state’s aerospace and defense industries.

Gov. Sanders announced her plan to attend the Paris Air Show in a press release on June 14.

“I’m honored to announce that I will be representing Arkansas on my first overseas trade mission to Europe. Alongside Commerce Secretary Hugh McDonald and Arkansas Economic Development Commission Executive Director Clint O’Neal, I’ll meet with American, British, French and German business executives to make the case for investing in Arkansas and bringing good-paying jobs to our state,” Gov. Sanders said.

Other members of the delegation include Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. and Little Rock Regional Chamber President Jay Chesshir, with support from organizations and companies such as the Arkansas Aerospace and Defense Alliance, the Clinton National Airport, Mundo-Tech and ORC Products, Inc.

The aerospace and defense industries form Arkansas’s number one export, surpassing even agricultural products with more than $1 billion a year accounting for some 19.7% of Arkansas’s total exports.
