Turf Tank has released its upgraded, second-generation robot that autonomously paints the lines on athletic fields. The Turf Tank Two uses GPS technology with an on-site base station, which serves as a fixed and known location to ensure precision and accuracy of the line painting.
A groundskeeper can program and active the Turf Tank Two through a tablet, and the machine can paint a regulation soccer pitch in less than 24 minutes, a baseball or softball park in no more than 11 minutes and a full-length American football field with all lines and hash marks in about 3.5 hours. More than 1,600 Turf Tank robots are in use across the US and another 2,000 internationally. Users include major professional clubs in the NFL, Premier League and MLS as well as colleges, high schools and parks and recreation departments.
